I’m currently working at an online advertising agency Httpool, where we’re developing an advertising engine. This involves a lot of back-end data processing, and a fast, load-balanced, highly available, ad-serving architecture, with a lot of weight on memcached (and as little as possible on the DB) and Javascript for advanced ad visibility detection. I spend 60% of my time developing features, and 40% caching them.
In my free time, I read books (Discworld ftw!!), play basketball, look intelligent while talking to people, try to be sarcastic at just the right moments (I usually fail), and hide pain when I sprain my ankle while playing basketball. Sometimes I go and see an event of cultural persuasion. Believe it or not, I try to avoid using computer too much at home. Unsuccessfully, may I add.
